Everlight Radiology Lays Groundwork for 2025 South Africa Teleradiology Launch

Everlight Radiology is accelerating its global footprint by forging strategic ties within South Africa’s radiology community. In a landmark series of engagement events from May 6th to 19th, 2025, the company’s senior leadership met with local practitioners and institutions across Durban, Johannesburg, and Cape Town to prepare for a full-scale teleradiology service launch next year.

This month, a delegation of Everlight’s senior leadership, including Global CEO Rob Anderson, ANZ/SA Chief Executive Officer Wayne Hartmann, Global Recruitment Director Chris Fresi, Clinical Director Bryan Khoury, and Radiologist Engagement Manager Clive Kairuz, visited Durban, Johannesburg, and Cape Town. Their presence underscored Everlight’s commitment to understanding the unique needs of South African radiologists and health systems.

Everlight’s leadership team pursued three core goals: An open-dialogue firstly, where these events would provide invaluable opportunities, enabling candid conversations on clinical workflows, reporting standards, and professional challenges faced by local imaging specialists.

Secondly, by sharing insights into “the evolving world of teleradiology”, Everlight aimed to demonstrate how remote reporting, cloud-based platforms, andAI-enhanced workflows can boost diagnostic turnaround times and service resilience in both urban and rural settings.

Lastly, emphasizing its role as a collaborator, Everlight stated, “Our leadership team shared Everlight’s commitment to quality, innovation, and radiologist support, while also gaining firsthand perspectives on the specific needs and opportunities within the South African healthcare landscape”.

South Africa represents a pivotal market for Everlight’s international expansion. The country boasts a well-established radiology community, significant public and private healthcare infrastructure, and a growing appetite for digital health solutions. By engaging early with key opinion leaders, Everlight seeks to tailor its teleradiology service model—covering after-hours reporting, subspecialty reads, and emergency support—to local regulatory requirements and clinical expectations.

Complementing its site visits, Everlight encouraged radiology professionals to download Radiology Unlocked: The Global Radiologist Report 2025, a survey of over 700 radiologists across 50+ countries. The report examines global perceptions of teleradiology opportunities and challenges, providing data to inform Everlight’s service design and training programs.

As Everlight prepares for its 2025 market entry, the company “anticipates continuing these conversations and building lasting partnerships within the South African radiology community”. Future steps include hosting virtual workshops on teleradiology and the best practices thereof, piloting the reporting workflows with select hospitals and imaging centers, collaborating with local professional bodies to ensure CPD-accredited training and establishing a regional support hub staffed by local IT and clinical specialists.

By embedding itself within South Africa’s radiology ecosystem well before its service launch, Everlight Radiology is positioning teleradiology as a collaborative, quality-driven extension of in-country expertise—ushering in faster diagnoses, improved patient care, and strengthened resilience across the healthcare continuum.
