A team of nine volunteer doctors and nurses from Greece has arrived in Ghana to deliver free medical services to communities across the country, in a mission running from August 28 to September 10, 2025. The initiative, organised by the Holy Orthodox Archdiocese of Accra under the blessing of the Patriarchate of<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Alexandria and All Africa, is being carried out in partnership with Ghana\u2019s Ministry of Health, the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Greek Consulate in Ghana, and local Orthodox parishes.<\/span><\/p>

The visiting specialists include general practitioners, surgeons, ophthalmologists, internists, and nurses. <\/span>They have brought with them 22 suitcases filled with donated medicines collected in Greece, which will be distributed free of charge to patients during the mission. <\/span><\/i><\/b>The programme is designed to reach both urban and rural communities, with scheduled stops in Gomoa Fomena, Tema Newtown, Lapaz, Larteh Akuapem, Akim South, and Akim Breman.<\/span><\/p>

Services on offer include free consultations, pharmaceutical support, preventive examinations, and educational seminars on hygiene and first aid. <\/span>These activities aim to address both immediate healthcare needs and longer-term public health awareness,<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0particularly in areas where access to medical services is limited.<\/span><\/p>

His Eminence, Archbishop Daniel of Accra, encouraged the public to take advantage of the opportunity, describing the mission as<\/span>\u00a0\u201ca gift of compassion, open to all regardless of race, nationality, or religion\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0His remarks reflect the inclusive nature of the outreach, which seeks to bridge gaps in healthcare access without discrimination.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This collaboration between Ghanaian institutions and international volunteers highlights the role of cross-border partnerships in addressing healthcare challenges.<\/span><\/i><\/b> For many residents in the beneficiary areas, the arrival of the Greek medical team offers not only immediate relief from untreated conditions but also a renewed sense of connection to global networks of solidarity and care.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>
